Steam has been relaunched as Small Beer Amber and is available in can while stocks last.

The Original Small Beer Steam is an amber beer, brewed with rye, that beautifully bridges the gap between a lager and an ale, showing dried fruits, spice and a rounded hop finish. Time Out said: "It tastes incredibly complex for just 2.7%."

Tasting Notes: Rounded malty richness, full of dried fruit biscuit.

A HISTORIC RYE STYLE BEER

The Steam style originated in Germany in the mid 1800s. As an explosion in demand for Lager outstripped supply, some cooler, calmer lager fermentations would inevitably end up being left to ferment warmer, resulting in a fruitier and bolder beer, compared to pilsner style lagers. This newfound taste caught on and became known as Steam beer due to the mists that would roll down the sides of the open top fermenters during a warmer, more vigorous fermentation.
