Welcome to Behind The Brew, where we shine a light on the incredible people who make Small Beer what it is. Every team member plays a unique role, each a vital cog in the Small Beer machine, working differently but coming together to craft something truly special.

This week, we spoke with Rosie, our newest Sales Executive in the SMALL BEER family. Rosie is bubbly, endlessly positive, and always wears a big smile! Although she's the newest member of the family, she's already made a huge impression, especially by showing up the rest of the team with her sporting abilities. We're excited to watch her continue to grow, thrive, and no doubt keep raising the bar for the rest of us!
Rosie, welcome to the team! Tell us about your journey to SMALL BEER.
My journey to SMALL BEER has been a slightly unconventional one. With a background in Biochemistry and experience in the cultivated meat industry, I’ve always been drawn to science-led industries and knew brewing was something I wanted to explore further.
At the same time, I wanted to work for a company that was genuinely trying to make a positive impact. SMALL BEER brought those two things together perfectly, combining innovation, sustainability, and great beer.
Now I get to spend my days building relationships with lovely pub owners and restaurant teams, understanding what they need, and finding ways to make their jobs a little easier. It’s been a really rewarding move so far.
What's surprised you about the beer industry so far?
How deeply local it still is. Even with global giants like AB InBev and Heineken dominating shelf space, beer culture remains intensely regional, from preferred styles and serving traditions to pub habits and community loyalties.
What’s also fascinating is that success in beer is about far more than just brewing a great product. The industry runs heavily on relationships and community: tap placements, pub groups, festivals, distributors, retail buyers, and local reputation all play a huge role. A fantastic beer still needs visibility and the right network behind it to reach people.
That balance between craftsmanship, local identity, and relationship-building is what makes the beer industry so unique and dynamic.
Describe yourself as a beer style.
A hazy pale ale, fun, easy-going, slightly chaotic.
What's something people wouldn't expect from you?
I really love wildlife and being outdoors. I got my advanced diving certificate a few years ago and spending my summers diving in Cornwall has been incredible!
If you could share a SMALL BEER with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
It would have to be David Attenborough. He’s easily one of the coolest people around, and the way he’s dedicated his life to conservation, science, and helping people better understand the natural world is incredibly inspiring. I think sharing a Small Beer with him and hearing his stories would be pretty hard to beat.
What is your BIG DREAM?
I would love to open a gym franchise specifically for Zumba. I became a Zumba Instructor in January and would love to create a platform to spread this. Zumba x SMALL BEER event coming soon, watch this space.
